Among the Islands

In this series I am pursuing composition possibilities, shifting islands around, using color and mass to create mood. The subtle variations possible are virtually endless.

Mountain Lake - Theme and Variations

I never cease to wonder at the changing moods of the small mountain lake I have lived beside for many years. The watercolor variations presented are field studies painted from one vantage point.

Monolith

In this series I have introduced a singular object that often occurs in nature, causing one to wonder how it arrived and to what purpose - like Ayers Rock in the middle of the Australian outback.

Passages

As in the Island Series this is an exploration of northern waterways and the endless variety and mystery that may be encountered around the next headland. Watercolor best lets me capture this in an immediate and personal way.
